Traditional leadership development is bottom-heavy: new managers receive training programs, mentorship, and frequent feedback; but senior leaders—the ones carrying the greatest responsibility—receive comparatively little. This leadership development gap creates institutional liability for any organization’s culture, results, and future trajectory.
When senior leaders do get development opportunities, they are typically standard competency assessments, gap analyses, and perhaps individual coaching. But leadership is not something inside a person; it happens between people. It’s built, exercised, and embodied in relationships.
What senior leaders need most is the space to grow together.
